Vortice (Vortex)
Installation by French artist Remy Uno,
inspired by one of the most iconic patterns of the
Pre-Spring 2017 Emilio Pucci Resort Collection
Introducing the Pre-Spring ’17 Collection through Vortice (Vortex), the art work of Remy Uno.
As part of a wider project on anamorphosis and the way the eye moves curated by Valentina Casacchia, the French artist conceived for the Emilio Pucci Showroom in Milan a complex installation on mirrors inspired by the Vortici Print, one of the most iconic patterns of the Resort 2017 by Massimo Giorgetti.
Conversing with the baroque inner architecture of Palazzo Recalcati, mirror paintings include the viewer and his/her surroundings activating a series of opposite polarities: static-dynamic, surface-depth, absolute-relative creating an interaction between the defined image and what goes on in the virtual space generated by the reflections.
Born and raised in Marseille graffiti scene French artist, Remy Uno explores individuality within decomposition of images. Well-known for his ability to successfully work in both studio and in the streets, he founded the Lartmada Collective in 2002, painting and exhibiting all over the world including Sao Paulo, New York, Caracas, Moscow, London, Johannesburg, Mexico and Yaoundé. Currently living and working in Berlin he now focuses on oil painting bringing nuance to portrait and intimacy by using unconventional supports and hues.
Vortice (Vortex) is curated by Valentina Casacchia, Milan based art historian and curator of the Artist Pension Trust.
